Forest Hill Arabian Stud is an arabian horse stud and farm with an assortment of miniature animals such as miniature goats, miniature ponies, lop eared rabbits and silkie chickens. We have been breeding top class pure bred Arabian horses for over 50 years. We are a small family owned local business. We are situated on the East Coast of Australia on the beautiful Central Coast, 1 hour North of Sydney and 45 minutes South of Newcastle, easily accessible in either direction from the F3 Freeway. We are also located a 5 minute drive from the local train stations (Wyong and Tuggerah) as well as Tuggerah Westfield Shopping Centre.
The main residence sits on a hill at the head of the Yarramalong Valley with commanding views down the valley floor, bounded by the Watagan Forest across the river to the North and the Ourimbah State Forest nearly opposite the main drive. The area abounds with State Forests and National Parks.
The farm is set on 25 Hectares descending down the hill to the river and is bordered by over 1 km of river frontage. The stud facilities include 2 barns, 2 round yards, an 8 horse walker and treadmill plus several homes and apartments available for guests.
Forest Hill Stud is just 20 minutes from the Coast and the Pacific Ocean, the nearest beaches being Shelly Beach, The Entrance, Terrigal and Avoca, all famous for their superb beaches and favourite weekend and holiday destinations for Sydneysiders and International travellers. The area is comprised of a great lakes system which include The Tuggerah Lakes, Brisbane Waters and the Pittwater.
Forest Hill Stud is located 40 minutes south of the famous Hunter Valley Wine growing region, which has more than 80 boutique winneries as well as the large commercial vineyards such as Tyrell’s, Penfolds, McGuiggan’s, McWilliam’s , Tulloch’s and Drayton’s to name a few. The Pokolbin area of the vineyards is also home to The Hunter Valley Gardens, The Cheese Factory and Antiques and Craft Stores.
Forest Hill is ideally situated being close to Sydney, only just over 1 hour by car, or 1 ½ hours by train. Rail services leave from Central Station in Sydney, to Wyong Station, every 30 minutes. The scenic train journey passes through the surrounding mountains and forests of the Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park before crossing the Pittwater and Brisbane Waters lakes systems which run to the Pacific ocean.
With the Ourimbah State Forest opposite we have access to miles of trails through the State forest, perfect for horse riding, mountain biking, motocross or hiking. We also have our own private forest which is home to an abundance of special wildlife such as platypus, wombats, foxes and a huge array of birds and much much more.
